By allowing us to access your health data securely through integration with Apple HealthKit, you can receive customized, personal plans for how to time light, exercise, and caffeine, all aimed at helping you live better on a shift work schedule. The Shift App brings decades of research into the science of sleep and circadian rhythms to your phone.
The Shift App uses several health data streams stored in Apple health (steps, heart rate, sleep, heart rate variability, blood oxygen, respiratory rate, workouts and phone accelerometer/motion data). These data streams are used to estimate your internal circadian state and to measure the effects of shift work on your physiology. Phone motion data is collected to assist with identifying sleep periods in the absence of other sources.
